GT7 Sprint Race • ALR Monday League • Blue Dragon Racing

There are tracks… and then there’s Road Atlanta. A ribbon of tarmac so tight, so tricky, and so merciless that even your car’s shadow gets nervous in the braking zones.

This week’s ALR Monday League GT7 Sprint race turned the heat up to a Georgia summer boil. Qualifying had already set the tone: Adz45 on pole, followed by Rocket, Dee Dubbs, and Orrak1 representing Blue Dragon Racing with a solid fourth. Radiate79, fresh from his previous struggles, sat in 10th — contemplative, composed, and maybe just a little bit furious.

The Lights Go Out – And So Does Adz’s Luck

Off the line, Obiwan Mindurski launched like a man with a vendetta, stealing fourth before the first corner. Orrak1 slipped to P5, but Radiate79 held firm in tenth — until he didn’t. By lap 2, Radiate pulled off a majestic overtake on M. Beaumont in the hairpin, choosing the inside line with surgical confidence.

Lap 3 brought chaos (or more precisely, S4RG34NT) with a dive-bomb on Orrak1 that took “late braking” to whole new levels. Orrak1 avoided contact by sheer reflexes — and probably some divine intervention — but fell back to sixth. Then, out of nowhere, ChaosDruid appeared in his AMG, dispatching Orrak1 in the final corner like a Merc-powered ghost. Orrak1: P7. Radiate: climbing.

At the same time, things at the front were unraveling. Adz45, from pole, was passed by Rocket and then spun into oblivion, tumbling down to P15 in mere seconds. By lap 5, Orrak1 was back up to sixth. Then the stalking began.

Predator Mode: Engaged

By lap 7, it was clear: Orrak1 was faster than both ChaosDruid and Obiwan ahead. His BMW didn’t have the top speed, but it carved corners like a sushi chef with a grudge. Chaos and Obiwan fought fiercely, elbows out, but the pressure mounted. Obiwan picked up a 1-second penalty just before the back straight, triggering a chain reaction: Dee Dubbs and S4RG34NT capitalized, Chaos squeezed past as well, and Orrak1 slotted into a renewed P6.

Lap 9 was manic. ChaosDruid muscled into second place with a move you wouldn’t teach in driving school — but it worked. Obiwan held off Orrak1, but barely. The tension was heavy enough to stall an engine.

By the end of lap 10, ChaosDruid cracked. A sloppy corner cut cost him a 1.5 second penalty. Orrak1, ever the opportunist, sailed into fourth. Radiate, now up to seventh, was hunting in packs.

The Final Charge

As the last lap loomed, the air was thick with desperation. Chaos, his momentum fading, fell behind Radiate, who had worked his way into sixth — a fantastic drive.

Up front, Orrak1 was glued to Obiwan’s rear bumper, both drivers dancing on the limit. The fight for third was brutal. But Obiwan held his line like a man possessed, refusing to crack.

Blue Dragon Racing – Fighting with Fire and Precision

Both Orrak1 and Radiate79 delivered standout performances in what was easily one of the most chaotic and tactical sprint races of the ALR Monday League GT7 Season. The BMW M6 may not have the legs on the straights, but in the corners — it’s a masterpiece. And now for the feature.

Flames in Georgia, Strategy in Ruins: GT7 Feature Race at Road Atlanta Delivers Drama, Fire, and One Very Angry Orrak1

Blue Dragon Racing | ALR Monday League GT7 | Road Atlanta Feature Race Recap

Some races are decided by pace. Others by tire strategy. And then there are races like this — where everything goes wrong for everyone, and somehow it’s still glorious.

The Start – Different Tires, Same Heat

Radiate79 started P5, Orrak1 from P7, right behind S4RG34NT. At turn one, Orrak1 went full send, taking position from Radiate — who tactically yielded, knowing they were on different compounds.
Radiate on softs, Orrak1 on hards.

But then, disaster. At turn five, Orrak1 spun — completely his fault — and dropped to P13. Radiate, composed and clinical, held P5 and began the hunt.

Midfield Mayhem – Pressure and Patience

Radiate began harassing Dangermouse for P4 like a wasp in a helmet. Meanwhile, Obiwan joined the battle group, waiting patiently for someone — anyone — to blink.

At the front, the top 3 broke away. But from P4 to P7, it was a war zone.

Eventually, Obiwan cracked, running wide in the same corner where Orrak1 had spun earlier. Rocket slipped past Radiate, who then pitted for the first of his two-stop strategy:
Soft → Medium → Soft.

Orrak1 – The Long Game

While others pitted, Orrak1 stretched his hards like medieval torture. Lap 16 — he finally boxed, emerging P13, right behind Bladerunner.

Then came lap 18, turn 5:
Contact.
Bladerunner and Orrak1 collided — Orrak1 a bit too aggressive, Bladerunner penalized 1 second, Orrak1 powered through.

By lap 20, Orrak1 was back in P9.
Radiate, meanwhile, was flying. By lap 20’s end, he boxed for the final time, rejoining in P10 on fresh softs. He was now a missile.

Deja Vu and Chaos Repeats

By lap 22, Radiate caught Bladerunner. Orrak1? Gaining on Obiwan – again – just like in the sprint race.

By lap 25, Chaos and Adz had boxed, and Orrak1 was back in P6, staring at Obiwan’s rear bumper — again.

For 4 full laps, it was Groundhog Day. Obiwan on dying hards. Orrak1 on fresher rubber.
But Obiwan defends brilliantly: like a drunken bear chained to a gate: wild, unpredictable, and somehow unmovable.

Lap 29 – Contact, Pass, and…

After 4 laps of purgatory, Orrak1 finally made the move into Turn 1.
Obiwan turned in.
Contact.
Obiwan went off.
Orrak1 got through.

BUT THEN.
Radiate appeared out of the mist — capitalizing on the chaos — and flew past Orrak1 just as he finally won the fight. Like stealing a trophy during the speech.

Then it happened.
Radiate went too deep into the next corner. Lost control for just a moment.
Orrak1 dove inside with surgical precision and took back P5.

The Final Lap – Redemption and Regret

Orrak1 now had clear air. Radiate’s tires were done. His second pit stop had come one lap too early.

Radiate dropped down to P11 by the chequered flag.

Championship Standings: Orrak1 Rises

With strong performances in both sprint and feature, Orrak1 now climbs to P4 in the overall standings – but it’s a shaky, hard-earned position. Radiate’s pace was incredible, but the two-stop gamble just didn’t pay off.

Next stop: France. Le Mans.
Long straights. Legends made or lost in slipstreams and silence.
